They are actually created by Adobe Media Encoder, a standalone software component that is included with Adobe programs. In effect this would delay the processing time for audio previews. They can be turned off using the caching option within Adobe applications preferences settings under the Media tab. They may occupy large space in the computer since they are large files. They are used for improving the software's performance when processing audio data and when generating audio waveform previews. These are stored audio files that contain audio data that has been conformed to a proprietary Adobe format. CFA files were developed by Adobe Systems. The CFA file extension is a data format known as Adobe Conformed Audio File.
